After many months of development and testing, UTE has completed work and testing on a new very cost effective PLC controller retrofit which will now be offered as our standard PLC control retrofit.
This unit has been tested thoroughly on both Pines #2, Pines #4 and a Clark and Lewis 300. With appropriate information supplied by the customer, it will work on any make of tube bender.
The previous Allen Bradly PLC Micrologix 1200 and Panel View 600 touch screen will continue to be offered as an optional PLC for those requiring Allen Bradly.
Our new PLC has been named the UTE "Pilot" (trademarked). Plus, we offer the optional "Prewired Hoffman Electric Panel" to complete the electrical rebuild.
The Pilot will be offered as a control retrofit and can be factory installed, field installed, or a customer can install it themselves.
Recommended options include a new, 20" x 20" prewired Hoffman electrical panel box with all new terminal strips, hydraulic motor starter, overload protection, control transformer, main fusing and rotary disconnect. It will also include terminals for bringing in existing machine wiring, and 2 amp fuses to protect machine and PLC outputs.
Other options will include a larger, easier to read, touch screen measuring 5 1/4" diagonally (vs. present 3 1/4" screen)
With the purchase of the Optional Prewired Hoffman Panel, a customer has, in effect, rebuilt his entire electrics on a bender for under $10k, and many more years of service.
